This is my response to the Composer Sally Beamish and her work for the Scottish Inspirations concert in 2016. The sequence has since been uploaded onto the BBC website as part of the archives. Overall I feel it fits with the composition of Beamish, as her inspiration was corryvracken a whirlpool in Scotland. She spoke about a piano being at the centre of the orchestra surrounded by a maelstrom of instruments. She also spoke of colours and flowers being present when she was looking at the whirlpool. I feel that although I wanted to create a whirlpool or maelstrom it also has an element of a vortex.
